Cluj-Napoca
Cluj is located in the middle of Transylvania, Romania. Has around 300.000 inhabitants. The city lies at the confluence of the Apuseni Mountains, the Someº plateau and the Transylvanian plain. It sprawls over the valleys of Somesul Mic and Nadas, and, to some extent over the secondary valleys of the Popesti, Chintau, Borhanci and Popii rivers.

Buildings, landmarks, museums
Cluj is extremly rich in history, and historical places, buildings.
One of the most famous man to be born here is the once hungarian king Matthias. His birthplace can be visited and a lot argued statue of the king can be found front of the Saint Michaels Church which was built in the 14th century.
There is an Orthodox Cathedral on the Avram Iancu square.
Cluj Napoca has many museums as the National Museum of Transylvanian history or the Ethnographical Museum
Check out the National Museum of Art on Unirii square, which is a formal palace and has an extensive collection of Romanian art and some foreign as well
Nightlife in Cluj
Many homegrown band located in Cluj, including the Cheeky girls, :-) . But there are many discos playing house and electronical musics. The major entertainment area is the city downtown, as you can find Diesel Club onthe Unrii square.

In Cluj there are buses, trams and trolley buses (kindda like a mix of buses and tram without rails). The tramline is going through the city.
There are train connection with Budapest and Bucharest and other cities and towns of transylvania as well.
Safety in Cluj
Normally safety is ok in the city, mainly in the downtown. As it is in Romania do not except anything horror. But you have to be careful and do your homework (as you have to in any places). Like do not go out alone in nighttime, let other travellers, hotelstuff know where you are heading to. Look out for pickpockets on mass transport, trains. If you have any problem contact the local authorities and make a report.

Shopping in Cluj
You can find almost everything in Cluj nowadays. Big shopping malls also available like Cora, but those are on the outskirts of the city. Many shops, restaurants available in the downtown.
PHARMACIES. Most pharmacies are open between 10am and 8-10 pm and general use medicine may be bought without prescription. They also post notes on which pharmacies have night services and those which are open non-stop and their address.
